Yo-a-mong ( Yo E Mo N ) is a member of the A-mong Family who appears in both Eastern Mind and Chu-Teng. Unlike most other A-mong members, he does not immediately steal from the Furoshiki and only takes something if the player loses in a game of Chō-han: a traditional Japanese dice game in which two dice are shaken in a bamboo cup.

Appearance

Much like the other A-mong Family members, Yo-a-mong is a three-legged humanoid creature wearing red wooden sandals, a cape, and a hat with an eyeball on the left and an eyepatch on the right. Distinctively, he is reddish brown with a dark purple cape, has four horns on top of his hat, and features the Tong-Nou symbol for "4" on both his chest and the eyepatch. "Yo" (四、よ) means the number "four" in Japanese.

In Tong-Nou

Yo-a-mong resides on the roof of the Helix Palace Luo-shang, right of the Metal Magatama. In order to play, the player's Furoshiki needs to contain either a Wind Chime, Gold Ingot, or Key of Gold; he prefers the items in this order and will take one if the player loses. The reward for winning the game is an Eyeball-Stone.

In Chu-Teng

Yo-a-mong has a chance to appear in the Star Palace, occupying The Fountain Room's portal to the Moon Palace. If encountered, he will offer the player to gamble with him: should the player win, he lets them into the Moon Palace; should they loose, he takes all of their items away. While Yo-a-mong can't take away the player's Chu-Teng Tablet, he can take other items needed to progress the game, and losing to him also seals back any open Palace entrances, leading to a potential softlock unless a previous save is loaded.

Habitat

Yo-a-mong is from the A-mong family that lives in Tong-Nou. It seems he sometimes appears in Chu-Teng. This may be because some parts of the different spatial dimensions that are open all over Chu-Teng lead to Tong-Nou. He is a suspicious character.
