Ka-gyou (
) is the king of the Land of Time Shi-chieng. Kai must summon him through the computer to receive details of his mission, and he must be contacted twice to remove the seal around the Fire Magatama.
Tong-Nou Book Entry
King of Shi-chieng (Land of Time) who officiates over time and fate in the Tong-Nou World. Lives within the Fire-Tower of Time Tong-tah.
Likes
Ka-gyou is devoted to the study of legendary figures and historic events. Thinks this pose, where he lifts both arms, is most autocratic of all. Unfortunately his conduct tends to be quite comical.
Dislikes
Hates to be put down. Especially when the twins (Ying and Yang) put him down, Ka-gyou flames with violent anger; although his body is always up in flames.
Etymology
His name appears to be a fusion of ka (火, or hi, meaning fire / flames) and gyou (行), a kanji that can mean "to circulate" or "to travel"; which originates from the Wu Xing philosophical concept, also known as the Chinese "Five Elements" (五行, go-gyou in Japanese).
In which case, as his name and domains theme suggest, Ka-gyou is a representation of the element of Fire. The element is also linked to the summer season, the color red, the virtue of propiety, a feathered body, and the South cardinal direction.
Another word pronounced like his name is 家業 (meaning family business / oneself's occupation), and could also be fitting due to Ka-gyou's devotion to his work.
