Magatama
Magatama are pieces of souls that are commonplace throughout the Tong-nou world. Rin's soul is comprised of five Magatama which he has to collect during the course of the game: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth.
Gameplay-wise, they are the secondary objective besides collecting the Namplates. Rin needs to place his five Magatama back into his soul at the end of the game.
Metal Magatama
The Metal Magatama (which is not the Gold Ingot) is inside the Helix Palace Luo-shang. It is found on the balcony after ascending the entire tower.
Water Magatama
The Water Magatama is inside the Palace of Dreaming Ping-chao. It is black and earned by feeding Mong-aru a Peach.
Wood Magatama
The Metal Magatama is inside the Tree of Life Mingke-shu. It is light blue and found on the wall which has the exit.
Fire Magatama
The Fire Magatama is in the Land of Time Shi-chieng. It is red and found in a similarly colored cage on the ground. Rin only has permission to collect it if he contacts Ka-gyou twice on the Computer.
Earth Magatama
The Earth Magatama is inside the Octagonal Shrine Par-fang. It is yellow and entangled in webbing being produced by the statues of the four kings. Rin must use the Katana of Five Forces to cut it free.
