Praise

Praise is one of the 27 words in Rolypolys no Nanakorobi Yaoki.

Plot

Jumping Jack Bu is sleeping in a field with a flower. Interacting with him causes Banaten to come by and water the flower. After, lightning strikes the flower and it grows into a giant monster flower that Jumping Jack Bu must defeat. The player can help Bu by moving him with the mouse. The flower spits out pollen, which causes Bu to sneeze if it hits him. Every 5 seconds, Las Vegas Akiko flies by and drops a dumpling that gives Bu the "strength of a thousand pigs." After eating the dumpling, the player can interact with the monster flower for Bu to defeat it.

Explanation

Literally: Dango rather than flowers.

A full stomach is much better than all the praise in the world. And no matter how much beauty there may be around you, you can't appreciate it one bit on an empty stomach. At the same time, there are also those who simply don't understand elegance, so they will always choose reality over beauty. Jumping Jack Bu, however, doesn't have the luxury of such a choice―he needs "dango" sweet rice balls to give him strength to fight the monster flower attacking him. For him the choice is clear. What about you? Would you choose to endure hunger to be with the girl or boy of your dreams? Maybe so, at least till it gets to around dinner time.

Trivia

• One of the animations for Bu defeating the flower has him swing and throw it in a way that may be reference to the game Super Mario 64, which had been released 8 months prior to Rolypolys no Nanakorobi Yaoki.
• The flower's attacks are quite easy to avoid, as it almost never fires towards the right half of the screen and Bu can teleport if the player clicks somewhere instead of dragging him.
