Rain is one of the 27 words in Rolypolys no Nanakorobi Yaoki.

Plot

Pon is being beaten up by Cho, who has tied him to a pole next to a tree. Up in the tree, we see that Banaten and the Del Montas are comfortably watching the violence.

Proverb

"To see it rain is better than to be in it."

Pon is walking along the screen and repeatedly looks up to check for rain.

Explanation

Literally: Viewing from a height.

The thinking here is that it's much better to view trouble from a safe distance than actually to be involved in it yourself. In the same way, it's much more comfortable to be inside watching the rain, than to be outside getting drenched. This may indeed be the case, but what about our kotowaza friends? Cho, as always, is picking on Pon. While it is obviously no fun for Pon, everyone else is keeping their distance, just taking it all in. They don't want to get involved. Is this the right thing to do? How would you feel if you were in Pon's place? What would you do if you were a bystander?
