The mysterious nature of Osamu Sato's works, combined with the lack of context available when they were first widely discovered in the west, has lead to countless rumors that still find their way into discussions today. This page lists common misconceptions and their origins, if known.

Eastern Mind

  • There is no scene where Pang-Xie gives you his arm as food.
  • Kai-shi, a third game in the Eastern Mind series, was hinted at but never released in any capacity.

Roly Polys

  • Playing Rolypolys no Nanakorobi Yaoki does not result in brain cancer.
  • There is no legitimate cult activity surrounding the game as of 2022.
    • These both originate from a video by the YouTube channel "MamaMax".

LSD

  • The game LSD: Dream Emulator has nothing to do with the drug Lysergic acid diethylamide.
  • The silent tracks in Bright Moon Apartment and Violence Town are very likely to be intentional and not corruptions.
  • It is impossible to fill out the Graph as tiles disappear over time. It is, however, possible to trigger an event by landing on Linen's face and neck.
  • LSD: Dream Emulator was developed by a multi-person team, lead by Osamu Sato, who is male.
  • Nobody killed themselves after making LSD: Dream Emulator.
