Bizhawk is a multi-platform emulator that provides a large library of tools for live game analysis.
In the case of LSD: Dream Emulator, it is notable for being able to change RAM values (numbers a game needs to remember, e.g. in a traditional game how much health the player has) for a wide variety of effects.
