Tou-gyou is the king of Tong-nou. He was sealed by the other four kings so his power could be harnessed. Tou-gyou's image is engraved in each of the five lands, conversing with these engravings will deliver hints about the area. After unsealing the Central Mountain, Rin must talk to each engraving to recieve the Katana Gems. When all Katana Gems have been acquired, Rin can acquire the Katana of Five Forces and use it to release Tou-gyou.

Engraving locations
Central Mountain
On the stairs after unsealing the gate. This is where he gives Rin the Katana of Five Forces.
Land of Desire
On the wall behind King-gyou.
Land of Dreaming
On the wall inside Ping-chao, directly greets the player at the entrance.
Land of Life
On the ground after taking the left path, then the right, then going forward.
Land of Time
On the ground, below the side of the Fire Tower where the player is facing when they come in.

Etymology
His name appears to be a fusion of to (土, or earth, as in ground, soil) and gyou (行), a kanji that can mean "to circulate" or "to travel"; which originates from the Wu Xing philosophical concept, also known as the Chinese "Five Elements" (五行, go-gyou in Japanese).

In which case, as his name and domains theme suggest, Tou-gyou is a representation of the element of Earth. The element is also linked to the middle of each changing season, the color yellow, the virtue of fidelity, a naked skin, and the Center of the cardinal directions. All in all, the Earth element is very much linked to stability, centralisation; it keeps balance between the other four elements at the same time.

Besides 土 (transliterated as 'to'), there's at least 3 other different kanji that are fitting to his name: 東 (tou, meaning east), along with 刀 (katana) and 島 (island) that can also be read as tou when being used in a compound word.

Gallery
<gallery>
File:Tougyoubook.jpg|Tou-gyou's design featured in The Art of Computer Designing.
File:TouGyouGallery.png|Tou-gyou's appearance in the Karacters gallery.
</gallery>

Trivia
* Tou-gyou can be contacted through the Computer.
* Clicking above an engraving's eyes will cause it to say "My name is Tou-gyou. I am held in captivity here. When your mission has been accomplished, I will be released."
** Oddly, this does not work in the Palace of Dreaming, because the hitbox is a layer below the regular hitbox where he says a hint.
He frequently stutters and repeats entire words, as well as hating ants due to an allergy and wooden objects for no apparent reason. On his head is a bird-like creature that is supposed to eat ants, but they take no action when the player presents one. Moku-gyou is embedded in the Tree of Life Mingke-shu, and the player must scare him with the Koma or Ant to enter the Tree of Life through his mouth.

Tong-Nou Book Entry
King of Ming-ken (Land of Life) who officiates over life and death in the Tong-Nou World. His particular personality and vermin-allergic predisposition, leads him to confine himself within the Mingke-shu (Tree of Life).
Likes
Both confident of and dependent on his symbiotic partner (bird-like creature located above his head) to exterminate vermin. The truth is...NOT.
Dislikes
Under the delusion that vermin and ants will devour his body. Moku-gyou dislikes them. Wooden products are also scary.

Etymology
His name appears to be a fusion of moku (木, or ki, meaning tree / wood) and gyou (行), a kanji that can mean "to circulate" or "to travel"; which originates from the Wu Xing philosophical concept, also known as the Chinese "Five Elements" (五行, go-gyou in Japanese).

In which case, as his name and domains theme suggest, Moku-gyou is a representation of the element of Wood. The element is also linked to the spring season, the color green, the virtue of benevolence, a scaly body, and the East cardinal direction.

Another kanji for moku (目, eye, order) could also be fitting due to the big eye under Moku-gyou's mouth being a noticeable feature of his design.

</gallery>

Trivia
* Moku-gyou has an extremely obscure line: as Tou, the player must use the ant on Moku-gyou while he is explaining Tou's mission, which causes him to say: "Wha, wha, What are you doing? It's, It's no time for games.".
* An early render of Moku-gyou shows him with a smaller mouth, an extra pair of eyes, and a nose.
* Moku-gyou's 2D design can be seen several times in the video for Xia-Che.
** The “torso” of Moku-gyou’s illustration in the Tong-Nou Illustrated Book can also be seen in Xia-Che, as a 3D render.
He is known to turn souls who perish in the Helix Palace into jewelry and gold for himself.

Tong-Nou Book Entry
King of Yui-wang (Land of Desire), embraces infinite desire. His ugly desires have turned his body to gold. Possesses the power to turn human desires into gold or gems. Greedy and self-centered, but amiable.
Likes
Collecting gold and gems to decorate the Helix Palace Luo-shang is his life work. A tone-deaf, but, a music freak. Seeks but the four missing instruments.
Dislikes
All that is neither gold nor gems, are worth as much as dust. Simplicity and poverty are the words he most dislikes. Detests all tone-deaf people apart from himself.

Etymology
His name appears to be a fusion of kin (金, or kane, meaning gold / money) and gyou (行), a kanji that can mean "to circulate" or "to travel"; which originates from the Wu Xing philosophical concept, also known as the Chinese "Five Elements" (五行, go-gyou in Japanese).

In which case, as his name and domains theme suggest, King-gyou is a representation of the element of Metal, also represented by either Gold or Silver. The element is also linked to the autumn season, the color white, the virtue of righteousness, a furred body, and the West cardinal direction.

Writting kin (金) together with the kanji for tama (玉, ball / jewels) leads to the word "金玉", that can either be read as kingyoku (meaning 'gold and jewels') or kintama (meaning testicles). The latter reading, being of sexual connotations, can be linked to Show-mi, the Room of Sexual Desire hidden in the Helix Palace.
In which case, as his name and domains theme suggest, Ka-gyou is a representation of the element of Fire. The element is also linked to the summer season, the color red, the virtue of propiety, a feathered body, and the South cardinal direction.

Another word pronounced like his name is 家業 (meaning family business / oneself's occupation), and could also be fitting due to Ka-gyou's devotion to his work.
Embedded within him is Zuo-mong, the living apparatus whom produces all the dreams of the land.

Tong-Nou Book Entry
King of Mon-chien (Land of Dreaming), Sui-gyou is quite happy if left alone to dream. Being a king, he must provide dreams to all of the residents. This responsibility can be quite unbearable. He does, however, possess the privilege to dream the best dream.
Likes
His ideal is to drift away in dreams from day to day. His nature easily leads him to distress. He's usually in a depressive state, but in reality he enjoys that state.
Dislikes
Hates quarrels. Will do anything to maintain a peaceful life. Since his responsibility is great, he is totally drained.

Etymology
His name appears to be a fusion of sui (水, or mizu, meaning water) and gyou (行), a kanji that can mean "to circulate" or "to travel"; which originates from the Wu Xing philosophical concept, also known as the Chinese "Five Elements" (五行, go-gyou in Japanese).

In which case, as his name and domains theme suggest, Sui-gyou is a representation of the element of Water. The element is also linked to the winter season, the color black, the virtue of wisdom, a shelled body, and the North cardinal direction.

It could also reference the japanese word suigyo (水魚, water and fish), fitting due to the aquatic and fish-like thematic seen in all of Mon-chien and its creatures, as well as Sui-gyou himself.
Trivia
* Sui-gyou is the only king who cannot be contacted on the Computer. Upon attempting to do so, the monitor merely flashes Sui-gyou's face before disappearing. Interestingly, unused text exists saying "I am the King of Mon-chien (Land of Dreaming), Sui-gyou." in F_KING, implying he was meant to be contacted at one point.
