Textures
Each area in LSD: Dream Emulator can appear decorated in one of four texture sets. These texture sets are commonly referred to by fans as "Normal", "Kanji", "Downer", and "Upper", though internally they're only known as textures A-D.
Texture Motifs
Normal
The first texture set. As the name suggests, this texture set is the baseline with nothing wacky going on.
Kanji
Also called Logic textures. Every surface is tinted purple and covered head-to-toe in Japanese writing. Text over generic surfaces like grass or walls consists of excerpts from the Dream Diary, unique entities are usually labelled with the appropriate kanji symbol describing it (e.g. the moon from Moonlight Tower has the symbol for moon, 月, written on it in Kanji textures).
Downer
Textures become tinted red, distorted, and generally abstract. Eyeballs appear everywhere one could think of placing them.
Upper
Also called Sexual textures. Photos of scantily clad female models and magazine clippings line every surface. Also has HAPPY TOWN-esque faces, and generally has bright flourishing hues.
The Texture Cycle
The first ten days have Normal textures, with another texture set being added into the mix every 10 days (for example, from days 11-20 areas have a chance of possessing either Normal textures or Kanji textures, then Downer gets added, and so on). The order is Normal, Kanji, Downer, Upper. After the final day of Upper textures, the cycle will reset.
